I even use them year round here in Ohio. At one point I found that 100% Egyptian Cotton were wonderful and now I can't even find them in 100% pure cotton. I did recently buy Fieldcrest Luxury 100% cotton at Penny's, they aren't like the Egyptian cotton but they are very close.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6801958290695793419.post-85497557910506773102022-05-27T15:05:04.888-07:002022-05-27T15:05:04.888-07:00I found some at Kohls "Sonoma Every day Sheet...I found some at Kohls "Sonoma Every day Sheets" which have a 300 thread count and are parcale. We used to take the sheets and pillowcases home and use them at the house. They were the best ever, winter summer just great they were 100% cotton that I do now. Just today actually before I found this blog that I called the place in New Hampshire called the general linen company. They supplied all the sheets to the motel and pillowcases, and each time they delivered they remove the
Ones that had to be cleaned and serviced and gave a new supply of all fresh clean sheets. When I called today and asked him if I could buy any they said no they only have the cleaning and delivery service. Then I asked if I could call where they get their supply for their business from. They said to call back later because the person that knows where they come from isn’t there right now so I haven’t given up… So if any of you people can find out a place that supplies to the linen services for a hotels and motels you might find something goodSandyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02492348695175231848noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6801958290695793419.post-31069350341707714492021-09-05T06:18:02.980-07:002021-09-05T06:18:02.980-07:00late to this thread. i discovered deadstock canno...late to this thread. i discovered deadstock cannon muslin Trojan or Corinthian from the late 30s early 40s to be the sweet spot. ebay or etsy. no resin, no finishing, no plastic. no polyester. thread count 128-140 ish. i had to sew my own king size sheets from pairs of double flat sheets 90x108. regards!Mrs Kim Smithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08140336784512437962noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6801958290695793419.post-67385078540734562592021-08-18T15:27:10.548-07:002021-08-18T15:27:10.548-07:00I'm a fan of the traditional old percale sheet...I'm a fan of the traditional old percale sheets too. But the best were the Wamsutta 60/40 cotton poly blend that disappeared years ago. So then I began the hunt for 'nice' sheets, sometimes having luck in big-box resellers where I could find fine European percale sets for about a quarter of their regular retail, and sometimes I bit the bullet and blew the budget on Italian designer percale. Last week in the back of my linen closet I found a 30-year-old old Supercale sheet and used it - and it felt just as good as my $600 Peacock Alley percale. I slept in Cuddledown's Organic cotton percale a while ago and they are pretty good for the price.I do prefer the cotton poly blend because it doesn't wrinkle but still feels great. I wonder why they aren't produced any more. A few years ago I found a hotel wholesaler who didn't require a business licence, but sold in bulk. They are a decent 60/40 cotton/poly. I had to buy a dozen sets, but got enough linen for twelve beds for the price of one set of designer sheets. I sold a couple sets to a friend, and put the rest in our 4-bedroom cabin. Now we have enough for every bed made and a set in the laundry. If I like the sheets on a hotel bed I pull out the edge with the label and take a picture. Other than the old Supercale, the best sheets I've found are the expensive ones from Peacock Alley, Sferra,Piubelle, etc. They wrinkle like crazy and they wear out, but they feel sooo good. I'm in Canada and there are a few nice bedding stores here including one in Toronto called AuLit. I needed a new set of sheets for our king, and decided to ignore my princess attitude and bought their 220 percale. Not cheap, and I HATE them. Not really cool, crisp or light. The higher TC sheets are likely better. On the plus side they do send samples (but I couldn't judge from a 4"square) and have great customer service.gettingandspendinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05409877583534493779noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6801958290695793419.post-45490074817390500952021-08-09T14:56:48.862-07:002021-08-09T14:56:48.862-07:00You are literally my spirit twin. I may have bought them at Kohls. They are super thick 100% cotton, crisp not that flimsy silky stuff. The tag in the sheet says Springs Industries 100% cotton algodon. I dint know the thread count but they are like soft chino cotton material, the weight of them all folded is really heavy for sheets.they are super breathable like wearing a thick high quality cotton t-shirt that you love. But, a lass, 2017 is the latest update and it's now 2021. I'm desperate for a cool, light and non-clinging sheet replacement. I purchased three used queen size sheet sets at an estate auction in 2001. I need a replacement for the Lady Pepperell no iron percale set. I can barely make out what appears to be 'combed cotton' and 'something something polyester' on the attached labels. The other two sets are okay but not as great as the Pepperell. Both are Springmaid no iron percale 60% cotton 40% polyester. I read somewhere years ago that the feds banned the addition of chemicals that made sheets no-iron because it was toxic to breath. My Pepperell is so thread bear now I've lost the ability to move effortlessly like I used to. The older I get the harder it is to move around in bed. In 2017 I made a blunder purchase $$$ from Boll and Branch and was trapped in their sheet like it was a cocoon. It's been in my closet ever since. I need soft, stiff, cool and light weight. I've other sheets on the beds in other rooms but I don't have to sleep on those beds. Movement and cool are a must. I keep looking on-line but can't trust the descriptions especially the 'soft'. Linen is more the texture I want (stiffness) but not so much that it feels scratchy. Are their updates to newer sheet sets on the market that could replace my worn out ones? I believe I still need the percale rather than the Sateen.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6801958290695793419.post-24463521119915828322021-03-25T14:27:15.898-07:002021-03-25T14:27:15.898-07:00Have you tried Sealy Signature Clean Comfort sheet...Have you tried Sealy Signature Clean Comfort sheets? I love the 50/50 and the 60/40 percale as I think they are much cooler, softer, and crisper than 100%cotton percale. I have a 1 set of 100% cotton sheets that burn me up when I have them on the bed. I actually have a sheet set that was my grandmas that is Canon Monticello 50/50 but it’s a full and I have a queen. I have a vintage sheet that I bought at a yard sale that is the softest, smoothest coolest, sheet I own, but again, sadly it is a full. I just bought it for nostalgia sake and to use for company sleeping on the sofa. But there is no tag so I don’t know the brand or fabric blend. It is just super soft and smooth and cool. I would give anything to find that type in a queen set. Why why why do things like good sheets have to become obsolete! Everything was so much better in the good ole days. Better quality everything from sheets to appliances. Things nowadays just plain stink. Low quality junk!
Cindihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05487875861185383872noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6801958290695793419.post-21363240060630390492021-01-16T23:30:26.048-08:002021-01-16T23:30:26.048-08:00I've been looking for sheets like my grandfath...I've been looking for sheets like my grandfather's navy issue thick heavy smooth cool blueish white cotton sheets for all my life. I'm now over 60 and I've kind of lost hope. I'm tired of bedding companies lying to me. Even naval suppliers don't really understand anymore. I don't even need fitted sheets. I never really noticed crispiness as much as the heaviness. I'm tired of spending money on sheets that don't match it.. I could have probably better spent all the money on creating a time machine. ;0)doranhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11475029299447268574noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6801958290695793419.post-87652987825820636902021-01-15T18:23:10.044-08:002021-01-15T18:23:10.044-08:00Update: The Thomas Lee sheets were a complete disa...Update: The Thomas Lee sheets were a complete disappointment. They were indescribably cool, thick and soft. Almost like butter canvas and mild wrinkling due to their weight.

After a while I got a new mattress and the sheets weren't deep enough (17"). Tried a few others, was able to avoid pills, got lulled into mediocrity by sateen, had the CM sheets on our guest bed and every time we made the bed I would just lay face down on them and feel how cold and buttery soft they were. And groan because there's nothing like them. They're quite thick but so cottony cool it works fine for summer.

Eventually gave up on finding more and switched those to our mattress and they slide off the corners somewhat and the pillow cases are finally starting to fray a little at the folds, not seams. Years of use and I can't find anything like them. It's kind of ridiculous because I would pay a ton of $ for another set. They're that amazing. Like for royalty.

NY husband laughs because I snuggle a pillow at night and just rub a hand over the cool softness and it lulls me to sleep. But he gets it tho. Agrees they're the best ever.

If anyone has fiound any like the JC Penney Chris Madden mid 2000s sheets please reply!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00595610774880049681noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6801958290695793419.post-36359433914207645252020-09-28T20:39:11.528-07:002020-09-28T20:39:11.528-07:00Me too. The organic cotton percale 400tc. The cotton is long-staple, the thread is single-ply, and when I washed them for the first time there were water pockets in the fitted sheet because the weave was so tight the water couldn’t easily permeate them. I washed and dried, and when I got into my freshly made bed, I actually said Aaaaaahhhhh out loud.
They feel a bit stiff on my face now, but I found a tip on a sheet website that one should do an initial wash with baking soda to get the sizing out. I’ll do that today. Honestly when I woke up this morning, I just wanted to lay in bed and move my legs around on the buttery crispness of the percale.
I. Am. SO happy with these sheets.
